Since its inception ICTP has collected vital statistics detailing the number of visitors participating in scientific activities  organized and held at the Centre. This statistical information provides  interesting insights into changes in the institution during its fourty years of operation. The Statistics on ICTP web page is updated by the ICTP Public Information Office (PIO).

 

 

 

Women Scientists at ICTP

ICTP's scientific programmes and research activities in physics and mathematics provide many Women_iconopportunities for women to engage in these fields. Through its efforts, ICTP contributes to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal 3 to promote gender equality and empower of women. Since its inception, ICTP has received more than 110,000 visits from scientists representing 184 countries. About half of the scientists have come from the developing world, particularly India, China, Brazil, Argentina and Egypt. Least developed countries (LDCs) with the highest number of visitors include Bangladesh, Sudan, Ethiopia, Senegal and Nepal.
